I’m a 25-year old full time artist working on a jewelry portfolio/skills, part time retail associate, and gleefully former office drone. I adore baking, and have since I could stand on tip toes to spy on my mother’s work in the kitchen. I’m approaching cooking with some trepidation – poaching eggs is at the top of my must-do-but-keep putting-off list.
This is my first blog, and I’m hoping to work my way into a well loved community of artists and bakers on the web, including Bread & Honey, Smitten Kitchen, Chocolate and Zucchini, Milk and Honey Cafe and local favorite Cakespy. I’d love to hear from you!
About me as a baker: I’m a total food geek, a self-confessed sugar junkie, and an organic-obsessive compulsive. I use no artificial dyes or additives, and I believe that butter is butter, accept no substitute. I have a few vegan recipes I’ll be trying, and any input would be greatly appreciated! I have to add though that the nice part about being an omnivore is being able to play with all the paints in the box, so to speak.
My pseudonym comes from Michael Ende’s Momo, also known as The Grey Gentlemen published 1973. The German title fully translates to Momo, or the strange story of the time-thieves and the child who brought the stolen time back to the people. If anyone comes across a copy of the 1985 softcover or hardback edition pictured below, please contact me about possible trade for homemade cookies of your choice…
